Max’s current obsession. We have to encourage him to spend face time with his in the flesh friends as well as his “in the headphone” friends from XBox live. On the plus side, he can hook up with his Canadian buddies to play. He often games with Michael and Matei.

Sadly, this is the last photo of our beloved Bailey dog. He’s been with us for almost 14 years now. We’ve moved him from home to home and he was here before our kids. He was cremated with his blanket and his stuffed cuddle pup. That trip to the vet was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. We miss the old guy.

This makes me happy. I know, strange. We had no space in our bathroom for extra toilet paper and magazines. This is a large basket from 31. It solves both problems. It’s the little things……….

p1160161A bit of a bird emergency this morning. Craig took our younger dog, Dan, upstairs with him during his shower. Dan likes to bark and annoy Sunny. As he was stepping in to the shower, he heard Sunny shrieking and Bailey barking. (Bailey doesn’t bark much) He came down to find Sunny on the floor, feathers flying and Bailey cowering on the floor. Evidently, he got ahold of her and she pecked him. Both animals were monitored all day to see if a vet visit was in order, but all is well.

We now close the cage door before we head to the second floor. I doubt Bailey will do that again!

Our retreat was held at a girl’s camp up in the mountains. We cross this bridge to get from the sleeping lodge to the dining hall, where we crop. The short walk helps work off some of the great camp food!

Biggest Loser snack for today. Every week I make a snack and then post the photo on FB. There’s something about watching The Biggest Loser that makes me hungry! What you don’t see here? The Jazzercise class from earlier in the day. I burned about 600 calories- I can afford to eat like this!

Note: I omitted the pecans for my kids. We don’t do nuts in this family! This recipe came from an on-line friend who fixes meals for the cowboys on her ranch. They eat this with breakfast!

Honey Bun Cake

1 yellow cake mix, open the box and reserve 1/2 C for the topping

1 C butter, softened

4 eggs

8 oz sour cream

1/4 C milk

1/2 C. br. sugar

1/2 C chopped pecans

2 t cinnamon

1 C powdered sugar

1 t vanilla

1 T milk

Reserve 1/2 C dry cake mix. Mix the rest of the mix with butter, eggs, milk and sour cream. Pour 1/2 of the mixture in to a 9 by 13 inch greased pan. In a small bowl, mix the pecans, brown sugar, cinnamon and reserved cake mix. Sprinkle this over the cake mixture in the pan. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes. (40 if using a stoneware rectangle baker) Poke holes in the warm cake with a fork and spread with a glaze made from the powdered sugar, vanilla and milk.
