An attempt at organization. The jackets have come down for the season and have been replaced by beach towels! They are hanging from hooks that are attached over the top of the door.

Bailey’s solution to weathering the heat and small boys with Nerf guns. He’s underneath the “buffle fe” (the buffet), with his head on the air conditioning vent. He’s cooler and not in risk of being stepped or or shot by accident. Smart puppy!

Fiona's first car show outing of 2010 garnered a 2nd place, British [or 1st loser depending on your attitude]. We admittedly lost to an immaculate 1967 Austin Healey 3000. Fun was had by all the G's and new friends were made!!

A neighborhood tradition. Unfortunately, you don’t get the photo that goes with this post. It shows the whole neighborhood gang of kids and I don’t have permission to post the photo! Instead? You’ll get the word picture.
It is tradition here to bombard the children when they get off of the bus after school on the last day. The parents arrived armed with water balloons, silly string and squirt guns. I was not informed of said ritual, I was not home when it happened. The DH was here and dutifully documented the whole thing though. (thanks honey) When the bus pulled up, the kids disembarked carefully----knowing what was coming. I’m sorry I missed it!

Dad’s home from Hong Kong. Max asked for weapons which wouldn’t fly with customs or the air lines. So Dad brought him miniature weapons. He was good with that.
Bonus photo. Aaron asked for gadget candy.

Look familiar? This was a photo I took for The Little Things project, but it’s doing double duty. Love me some kettle corn!

This is something I missed while we were in Canada. They don’t have the sales and coupons that we do here. I’m getting ready to raid the Rite Aid.

Reusable, keeps drinks cold and your hands dry- tervis tumbler from Starbucks. The dishwasher malfunctioned last month and melted my other cup. I’ve been stalking Starbucks to get another. Success!

It’s the Little Things
Sorry I’m a day late on this. The kids are out of school for the summer. (yikes!) We spent yesterday attempting to settle in for the summer. I didn’t get photos, but they had hair cuts and we made a library run.
On to the thing that makes me smile. It’s a strange one. Our garbage company makes these containers available to us. The green one is for recycling and the blue one is for garbage. So what’s so special about that? These have wheels. They are not small containers that have to be schlepped to the curb after we overfill them. Fill them up, roll them out, roll them back. Easy peasy. Love it!

Dots dishes from The Pampered Chef. I have service for 8 plus serving dishes. This is the small bowl, perfect for salads…………but also perfect for popcorn. In the bowl? Kettle corn. I love to eat it when I want a bit of sweet and a bit of salty.

Happy Mother’s Day. Board games to play and flowers from the yard. The boys were so proud of themselves to get them cut and put into a vase. I was glad they didn’t cut the neighbor’s flowers. They also stayed clear of the vases that are family heirlooms!

We’re approaching the time where Max spends quite a bit of time here. He’s a night owl like his Dad though!

Better living through modern medicine. It’s been a long time coming, but Aaron started his ADHD meds this week. He’s been diagnosed as ADHD/combined type.

Home work help. Thank God that Dad is good at math or we’d be on Skype with Uncle Mike or Aunt Shannon!

Craig and Max have been watching the HBO mini-series “The Pacific”. They both say it’s the fastest hour of the week!

I love my local scrapbooking buddies! We got together for a family barbecue/potluck. We had frozen fruit salad, potato salad, cole slaw, brownies, cake, and various beverages. The kids all played and the husbands enjoyed the bonding!
