Celebrate Monday With Me, will you?

I read far too many blogs every day! One of my favorite ones is Simple Scrapper. Jennifer is encouraging us to celebrate each Monday by sharing a photo and a story.

 

This is me. I’m holding a glass of Polish Vodka.

This is my friend Jo and her friend MaryAnn. She’s known as the “Cabbage Roll Lady” in her neck of the woods. MaryAnn and I hit it off fabulously. She loves to cook and I learned some tricks from her that day. We made stuffed peppers and cabbage rolls. I fell in love with her pirogues. We drank wine and then got in to a bottle of Polish vodka. Notice the expression on my face? Wicked stuff. It’s not for lightweights like me. We cooked all afternoon and evening. We drank and drank. JoEllen stopped after a few shots, early in the day. (She had to drive us home.) It wasn’t pretty. We now refer to that evening as the “Polish Vodka Incident”.  And MaryAnn? She makes the best cabbage rolls in Ontario. Seriously.
